Several rockets intercepted; Hamas claims responsibility: ‘Nuclear reactor was the target’
For the first time, Iron Dome missile system intercepted Wednesday rockets fired into the southern city of Dimona, which is located 70 kilometers from Gaza.
According to Israeli Ynet and Haaretz sites, three rockets were fired and one was Intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system. Walla! news site reported seven rockets were fired into the city, with three successful interceptions and four rockets landing in open areas.
The Negev Nuclear Research Center, where Israel allegedly manufactures its nuclear weapon, is about thirteen kilometers to the south-east of Dimona. Hamas claimed responsibility for the rocket fire: “Nuclear reactor was the target.”
